Emilio Grau Sala or Emil Grau i Sala (1911-1975) is a Catalan painter. Emilio Grau Sala was born in Barcelona in 1911 and continued his studies at the Barcelona School of Fine Arts. He arrived in France in 1932. He died in Paris on June 21, 1975. A remarkable colorist (oil and water paints, pastels) and illustrator, he was a member of Maurice Boitel's group at the Salon Comparaisons. Emili Grau Sala has illustrated several books (Les Fleurs du mal by Baudelaire, Madame Bovary by Gustave Flaubert, Bel-Ami by Guy de Maupassant, À la recherche du temps perdu by Marcel Proust) and produced lithographs, engravings and posters.
