Albert André born in 1869 in Lyon, was the executor of Auguste Renoir's will, at the latter's request, having been his very faithful friend and admirer of whom over the years he imbued himself with his style. Numerous biographies on this painter who is also listed in numerous books (including Benezit) and numerous museums: The Museum of Modern Art in Paris keeps several paintings by him as well as museums in North America and Europe. He commands prices important in public sales. Canvas painted in the 1920s/30s in perfect original condition on its original frame and canvas, representing a little boy holding his model of a sailboat, ready to put it in the water. Expressed with spontaneity and great freshness of colors, it is captured, surprised, as in a photographic snapshot. The first photos are in daylight, the last are taken in artificial light. Canvas signed at the bottom and left. Modern setting. Dimensions outside frame: 46x38 cms. (63x55 cms with frame)
