"Fauteuil Bergère Du XVIII E Siècle Et d'époque Louis XVI. V-1785."
This Louis XVI period shepherdess is a large, very comfortable armchair with a rather low seat rail. His backrest is tilted back more and his cheeks are still full. Its backrest is both rounded and padded. The one on our model is in a police hat. The feet are roughened and grooved. The model, very elegant, is well proportioned. It is reminiscent of the productions of Adrien-Pierre Dupain, who became a master in Paris in 1772. The lacquer is old and certainly original. The silk with a "golden yellow" background uses a bayadere stripe pattern very common at the end of the 18th century. The upholstery is in “good” condition but needs cleaning. The cushion and armrest upholstery need to be changed. It is an elegant model, rather nervous and distinguished.
