David Teniers II, known as the younger, born in Antwerp on December 15, 1610 and died in Brussels on April 25, 1690, is a Flemish painter, engraver, draftsman, miniaturist painter and copyist. He is an extremely versatile artist known for his prolific output. He is an innovator in a wide range of genres such as history, genre, landscape, portraiture and still life. He is particularly known for developing the peasant genre, the tavern scene, images of art collections, and scenes with alchemists and doctors.
