"Large Restoration Period Ceremonial Console In Walnut Veneer, Marble Top, 19th Century"
Large so-called ceremonial console from the Charles X Restoration period. This is a console which was intended for the large living room in a beautiful residence. Indeed, its unusual dimensions give it majesty and presence. It has no drawer, which makes it just a decorative and non-functional piece of furniture like the "small consoles" that we usually find. It is made of walnut veneer for the headband and the spacer and the powerful jambs in lion's claws and acanthus leaves are in solid walnut. This console is topped with light gray white marble with cut sides. Good condition of the house, some very slight signs of age in the veneer, marble stained and scratched in places. Charles
