"1940s Richly Beaded Silk Prom Gala Cocktail Dress "
Sumptuous cocktail, gala or ball dress in silk veil lined with tulle. It is decorated with garlands of black glass beads applied to the skirt and bodice. Its large skirt has a lot of volume. The dress is fully lined with ivory silk and its bustier is formed with stays. It closes in the back with a zipper. The small black beads, round and tubular, shiny like jet, were previously sewn together to form the garlands. Given its quality, certainly the dress of a Grande Maison. The garlands of pearls that go around the dress, both on the front, on the back of the dress and on the bodice as well as the different thicknesses of fabric make it quite heavy. The dress is in good general condition despite some signs of use including moisture marks on the bottom of the dress, stains, marks and small holes in the tulle at the bottom of the dress on the reverse... It will need to be ironed (see photos ). Dimensions: This is a small size dress, approximately 36 as it is most likely made to measure. Total height: approximately 108 cm Skirt width approximately 400 cm and even more if we add the tulle. Many other objects to discover in my stand at the Trade Shows in which I participate.
