François Flameng French painter, born December 6, 1856 in Paris. Died in Paris on February 28, 1923. He trained with his father Léopold. After his studies at Louis Le Grand, he entered the Beaux Arts in the atelier of Alexandre Cabanel. From 1870, he produced several reproductions of works by the painters Alfres Sisley, Edouard Manet and Claude Monet. In 1875 he started at the Salon des Artistes Français. Appreciated by Tsar Alexander III, he was invited to Russia where he painted numerous portraits of the Imperial Court. In 1895, he participated in the decoration of the new Favart room at the Théâtre National de l'Opéra Comique. In 1900, he created the decorative panel Paris for the large room of the Train Bleu restaurant at the Gare de Lyon. In 1905, he was appointed professor at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Paris.
