On its original canvas and frame.

Jan Antoon NEUHUYS is a Dutch painter born April 16, 1832 in Haarlem and died November 1, 1891 in Antwerp. He was a student of Nicaise de Keyser and of the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp. He received first prize there in 1858. He specialized in genre scenes and portraits. He is the brother of the painter Joseph Hendrikus Neuhuys.
The Amsterdam Museum preserves works by this artist.
