"Louis XV Chest Of Drawers Stamped Jean Charles Ellaume "
Curved chest of drawers covered in marquetry of rosewood and amaranth. Front with five drawers in three rows with visible crosspieces. Red marble shaded with gray with corbin beak. Beautiful ornamentation of chased and gilded bronze including four keys. Good general condition with traces of old restorations and inlay restoration to be planned on the sides. Stamped JC ELLAUME on front right and left uprights with a Jurande punch. Jean Charles Ellaume dit Elleaume or Allaume, French cabinetmaker and guild master of the 18th century, born in 1714, died in 1814, received master on November 6, 1754 and established rue Traversière in the Faubourg Saint Antoine district in Paris. Dimensions: height- 85cm width- 133cm depth- 65cm. Delivery suitable for international.

One of its chests of drawers, kept at the Château de Morlanne, has been classified as an object in historical monuments since June 20, 1979. Two other chests of drawers are protected: registration of a chest of drawers on April 9, 2009 kept in the so-called Louise- Loved at the Château de Vendeuvre and classification of a chest of drawers since July 29, 2011 at the Château de Gizeux. The Bernay Museum of Fine Arts has several Ellaume dressers in its permanent collections. The royal castle of Wawel has in its collections chests of drawers from Parisian cabinetmakers, including Ellaume.
