Commode Stamped Schwingkens, 18th century (Early Louis with keyholes and handles in chiseled gilded bronze. The bronzes are hallmarked with the crowned C. The drawers are separated by crosspieces enriched with brass. The uprights are rounded, enriched with brass grooves and are extended by straight legs. The chest of drawers is topped with a royal black marble top surrounded by a bec de corbin molding. Guillaume SCHWINGKENS, foreign cabinetmaker settled in France around the middle of the 18th century. He obtained his master's letters probably at the beginning of the reign of Louis XV Of German origin, SCHWINGKENS arrived in Paris during the Regency period.
