"Napoleon 1st Portrait Bone Box"
Important 19th century oval-shaped bone box. It is decorated on the lid with a painted portrait depicting Napoleon I in coronation garb. He is represented in bust, slightly in profile, wearing a laurel wreath and wearing the imperial mantle lined with ermine; he wears the large necklace of the Legion of Honor. The expression on his face and the richness of his outfit exude solemnity and power. This representation of the Emperor is inspired by the portrait made by Girodet in 1812. 17X14cm H: 5.4cm Good condition.
