"Bonbonniere Or Drageoir And Its Cup, Engraved Crystal From Maison Vessière In Baccarat, 20th Century"
Lovely candy box resting on its presentation dish, in crystal engraved with fruit branch decorations: apples, pears, grapes, cherries. Work from Maison Vessière in Baccarat (signature engraved under the cup) of very fine execution. Note a small chip on the edge of the candy dish cup (see photo) completely invisible when the lid is in place, and normal wear below the presentation cup (see photo). The history of Maison Vessière began more than 140 years ago, in the heart of Art Nouveau, a thriving creative era that took root in Baccarat. After touring the world presenting Baccarat manufacturing in numerous exhibitions, Justin Vessière, the founder, obtained with his son the highest awards for their crystal engraving work. It was in 1882 that Justin Vessière opened his first store and became the sole and first custodian of the Baccarat crystal works.
