"Porcelain Chandelier Meissen 1790, From The Residence Of King Alfonso XIII In Biarritz"
Delightful roccaille chandelier in delicate Meissen porcelain of the Marcolini period, circa 1790, from the residence of King Alfonso XIII in Biarritz. Compositionally and semantically, it is realized as a dynamic plant fountain breaking out of the basket. It is a two-tier structure for 9 candles with a decorative belt, decorated with birds of paradise (canaries) and hanging garlands. The most delicate color of lilac, azure and pink shades of porcelain gives a special charm. The central axis is effectively emphasized and completed by a large flower garland, made with jewelery beauty. Underglaze blue swords with an asterisk at the base. Height: 100 cm. Diameter: 75 cm. 18 century.
