Born in 1912 in Marseille, Jean Ginier studied at the School of Fine Arts in Marseille, then at ENSBA in Paris in the workshop of Marcel Gaumont and Alfred Boucher. In 1944 he won the second Prix de Rome with The Amazon Wounded and Stripped of Her Tunic.
