Signed Guérin under the base and numbered A 3225
Roger Guérin (1896-1954) was one of the most important Belgian ceramists in Bouffioulx, near Charleroi. The use of fluid glazes in his decorations is typical. True to the history of his region, he often worked in a type of hard ceramic (fired at a temperature of over 1250 degrees Celsius), which had been made there since the late Middle Ages. Guèrin exhibited his works at the 1925 and 1937 exhibitions in Paris.
