The order for reinforcements was given to Captain Liorzou, adjutant-major to the commander of Chambost. The CAB II vehicles cross the village and cross the section of the 7th Company, who arrive on foot. Micro Porschman comes from the east and reaches the station without too many problems where most of the 3rd Squadron are surrounded. [3]. The CABII/RMLE probably coming from the west has more problems. After the war diary of the 2nd battalion, to which the unit belongs, the military unit found itself directly at the entrance to the village in fierce fighting. You have to experience heavy machine gun fire and grenades to get there. The last elements of an SS battalion emerge from the battle, and they send a few bursts of fire, the tanks and armored vehicles respond [7]. However, shortly after, thanks to an action like that of the 75 mm section, contact can be established with the 3/1 REC and also with the Porschman mirco. The 3/1 REC and Mirco Porschman took up positions west and northwest of the village.
The fight in the market place.
The CAB II/RMLE was ordered to take up a more advanced position in the center of the village. [A CAB normally has a total of 14 armored vehicles, the so-called half-tracks] In the Guest Book this is described as follows: When the unit enters the village it appears deserted, it is quiet and all the hatches are closed, the village glows as if it were extinguished. A few 88 mm shells arrive, five or six houses on fire, while the head of the long column arrives at the point. It was night when suddenly the inferno broke loose from the windows and hatches of the cellar. When the CAB attempted to take up a position in the village square, it was attacked very violently. A large bazooka detonation hits the machine gun section command vehicle. Captain Liorzou is directly mortally wounded. Second lieutenant Richemont, who took command, was shot in the hand. [A quick bandage and he returns to his position. The legionnaires shoot at houses in the immediate vicinity. Machine gun fire responds to them. Incendiary grenades set fire to two houses where the shots were coming from. The victims fall. The company found itself in an annoying situation because the enemy managed to cut off the convoy: the recovery service and the supply vehicle were surrounded. The ambulance takes the injured. According to information received from the 3rd Squadron from a captured German, there is an entire SS battalion in the village. The recovery vehicle sends a message: "Ammunition is exhausted, the enemy is surrounding us, we have two seriously injured."
