Maillard : Large Empire Style Sterling Silver Round Platter / Tray - Swans +35 Cm

Large Empire style circular platter / tray in solid silver, finely decorated with a large frieze alternating laurel branches and intertwined Swans with outstretched wings on an amati background. Marli monogrammed (see photos). Very finely crafted from the highest quality silver, it is punched with the Mercury 1st Standard hallmark (.950) applied to French pieces intended for export, "Rabbit" hallmark (applied upon their return to France), mark of the Maison d'Orfèvrerie MAILLARD (Hallmark with initials "MR" and a hammer / Copin Succ.). This large serving platter / tray (over 35 cm in diameter!) with spectacular decoration is in excellent condition, furthermore revised and cleaned by our Goldsmith, micro-scratches from use.
