Empire Mahogany And Oak Boxed Desk

Large flat Empire style pedestal desk.
It is made of an oak structure covered with varnished mahogany veneer.
This is a mid-room desk.
In fact, we find the same ornamentation at the front and back of the desk.
Each box is fitted with drawers.
On the left side, we have five and on the right side, we have four including a double where the slide is missing.
In the center, there is a large drawer.
The facade uprights are constructed of four flat, slightly arched mahogany columns garnished with caryatids on bronze feet.
This desk rests on eight bronze claw feet.
It is decorated with gilded bronzes such as the keyholes and small cartouches.
The top is covered in empire green leather.

Please note, like all middle desks, there are drawers only on one side of the desk.
The other side is a decorative facade.
There are also some stains on the leather.
Presence of a key for all drawers and in working order.
French work from the beginning of the 20th century.
