"Reliquary Of Saint Honoré – 18th Century"
A gilded and carved wooden frame with rocaille decorations protects a rich montage of fine embroidery, pearls and golden threads. On the upper part sits a carefully embossed oval medallion, in which a Holy Virgin is represented (the lily being the attribute of virginity) carrying a sacred Heart. In the construction of this reliquary, we find, in its center and in its glory, the relics of Saint Honorati, bishop who died in 600, patron saint of bakers. It is surrounded, by so-called cramped relics, of the following four Saints: Gervais, Sylvester, Cosme and John.
A work from northern Italy from the 18th century
Dimensions of 44 cm by 29.5.
