This example: Wonderful quality with top quality silver fittings and scabbard. The handle type is called "queue de peaon", which means "peacock tail" in French. One of the shapes seen on traditional “Koummya” daggers. The blade is well forged and balanced and features a strong thickness and a curved, double-edged tip. The blade is signed by the blacksmith on the forte with an unknown mark. The scabbard is entirely decorated with chiseled designs and has two suspension rings attached near the mouth of the scabbard. The scabbard is hallmarked on the tip, on the two suspension rings and near the throat of the scabbard. The handle is made of finely weathered wood with an aesthetic grain. The pommel is covered in silver and hammered onto the tang of the blade. The center of the hilt features a partly brass and partly silver ferrule, showing fine traditional decoration.
