"Large Music Box With 3 Dancing Dolls, Station Box"
Large station music box with 3 dancing dolls. This music box was probably made by Ullman in the late 19th century in Switzerland. This type of box was produced to be placed in train stations, where passengers could listen to a melody and watch the machines by simply inserting a coin. This large box plays eight melodies on a 33 cm long cylinder. The whole thing is nickel-plated, which was common at the time. After inserting a coin, the game movement begins to play and the puppets begin to dance. For one coin inserted, this box plays 3 melodies. The double-spring barrel guarantees a long playing time. To the left of the cylinder is the melody indicator, to the right is a "run" protection (which is activated if there is a problem with the speed control to avoid damage to the game movement). The case is made of typical walnut veneer. The 2 original melodic cards present the 8 melodies (including the Marsaillaise). Very large music box, exceptionally decorative, which will find its place in any collection or home. A real object of conversation or exhibition. The cylinder is 33cm https://youtu.be/vEiVT2INpTo
