Silver-plated metal and silver-plated bronze planter. Signed below Cardeilhac. The silver-plated metal planter is removable. The structure, which includes the base, is in silvered bronze. It is decorated with ram heads, flowers and foliage.

Cardeilhac is a famous silversmith of the 19th century and the first half of the 20th century. Cardeilhac is renowned for its high-quality sterling silver and vermeil pieces, as well as its table cutlery. The company became official cutlery supplier to Napoleon III in 1855 and won a gold medal at the 1878 Universal Exhibition.
The family workshop was founded in 1804 by Vital Antoine Cardeilhac, then passed down through four generations before finally becoming part of the Christofle luxury house in 1951.
