Biography:

Martin Ohneberg, born around 1738, was a cabinetmaker mastered on July 7, 1773.

He ran a workshop on rue Traversière Saint-Antoine and later on cour de la Juiverie.

Martin Ohneberg worked for a host of fashionable merchants. He composed his work with care, in a light, sober taste.
He was an excellent marker, often using rosewood veneers of the finest quality.

He produced an infinite variety of chests of drawers, corner cabinets, and, above all, folding secretaries. His production is in the Transition and Louis XVI styles.

Étienne Garin, rue de Charenton, was one of the foundrymen from whom he commissioned bronze ornaments.
