Originally from Sologne, Michel ZELLER arrived in the Hautes-Pyrénées in 1939. Lacquer painter, trained by his father Pierre ZELLER, it was mainly as a gallery owner that he made a name for himself in the Hautes-Pyrénées. Student of Henri Borde, his taste for art sharpened through contact with the latter and the artists who frequented the Bigourdan master within the circle of Arts created by his father: André Sorbets, Jean Marquerie, Jeanne Saliceti, among others . He opened his first exhibition space in Tarbes, the Art Gallery (rue Lefranc from 1957 to 1960). Later they transferred their activities to Pau (1961-64), before returning in 1964 to Tarbes, at 6 rue Massey, until 1969. Michel ZELLER spent twelve years devoting himself to his lacquerware which he exhibited and marketed in France and abroad. he designs each lacquer with passionate commitment. Each of these creations is singular, displaying its unique character and charm. The lacquers are meticulously painted with a pen directly on glass, then delicately covered with 22-carat gold leaf.
