"Two Paintings On Panels Early 17th Century "
Two religious portraits (Jesus and the Virgin Mary) on wooden panel, undoubtedly Italian dating from the beginning of the 17th century. The assembly is original in the formerly restored wooden frames. The paintings are in good condition, probably never cleaned or retouched, the pictorial layer is not worn at all. The network of cracks which is accentuated by the flash of the photos is a good indication of their age. Very high quality for these two devotional paintings. I say they are Italian but without certainty, they are also reminiscent of the Flemish school. Dimensions with frame: 21cm by 17cm.
