"The Savetier. Njf Holain. 18th Century Terracotta "
The cobbler, original earthenware circa 1790. Signed on the terrace by Holain. Originally from Valenciennes, Holain was active in Paris around 1780. His workshop is located rue du Faubourg Saint Antoine. He exhibited two terracotta busts at the salon of 1791. He is mainly known for producing caricatures and figures of the people. Our terracotta has an old accident at the neck. Beautiful patina of use. Height 34 cm Base 15 x 11 cm
