Object description :

"Pair Of Gilded Sheet Metal Friezes "cornucopies" - Louis Philippe."
Pair of gilded sheet metal friezes "cornucopies" - Louis Philippe. Splendid pair of ornaments, decorations, friezes in golden sheet metal depicting cornucopias from which ears emerge. Considered an emblem of autumnal iconography, the "Cornucopia" is a name that derives from the union of the Latin terms "cornu", "horn", and "copia", "abundance": this horn of abundance, not surprisingly, it is depicted as a large cone overflowing with fruit, flowers, gold coins or ears of corn. Elements of great effect, very finely embossed, enriched with leaf motifs and bunches of grapes. Good condition, nice size, ideal for decorating a wall, being positioned above a door or being mounted on light points. Period: Louis Philippe Measurements: height cm. 53 - width cm. 54.
