Rare "viscera box", a rectangular veined marble box with a crossbow front opening with a flap concealing two cylindrical cavities complete with their 2 marble caps with button grip, the hinges and key entry in chiseled bronze and formerly gilded with decoration of arabesques and shell are original, no defects or accidents, work from the Regency period, early 18th century, height 22 cm, length 27.5cm, depth 16 cm. The Lorraine historical museum in Nancy keeps a similar example of a tobacco box from the King of Poland, Duke of Lorraine , father-in-law of Louis XV and inveterate smoker!
