"Portrait Oil On Panel By Guillaume Larrue"
Beautiful portrait by the artist Guillaume Larrue (1851/1935). This artist is well referenced and appears on the Musée d'Orsay website. A student of Cabanel, he exhibited at the Salon des Artistes Français. The proposed portrait is perhaps a self-portrait. A great intensity and presence emerges. The look is particularly captivating. On the back stamp of the sale of his workshop in 2004 at the Montlucon auction house. The grain of the strong paper shows through under the paint, which accentuates the material effect.
