dot engraving by Jean François Prot (active at the end of the 18th and beginning of the 19th century)
Prot engraver, of whom we know little, was known  for illustrating Paul & Virginie by Bernardin de Saint Pierre, in 1806 by Didot publisher (les Adieux)
The engraving is based on a composition signed: C...... del. (?)
in Paris at Ostervald the elder, publisher, Rue Pavée St André des Arts, n° 5
