"Music Box By Nicole Freres In Perfect Condition"
Beautiful music box from Nicole Frères. The wooden box has been completely restored and polished. The lid and the facade are inlaid with baguettes. The inside of the box is varnished red as it should be at that time. The mechanism plays 4 cheerful tunes, as shown on the original tune card, on a 20.5 cm long cylinder. The finely toothed comb is entirely original and signed. The music box plays smoothly and has been restored in our own workshop. Nicole Frères was the leading manufacturer of music boxes in the 19th century and made very good quality boxes. This is a good example. Serial number 27010 dates this box to before 1850, when the company was at the height of its capabilities.

The box is rather simple and therefore classic, with only marquetry in the form of a black lining on the lid and the front. The whole, housing and mechanism, has been restored to its original size (in our own workshop) and can guarantee another 100 years of pleasure.
