"Miniature Portrait, Cherub, Magnifying Glass Box, Signed Verdier, 19th Century"
Box in turned wood burl inlaid with a painted plaster medallion decorated with cherubs, and containing a miniature portrait of a bust of an Angel in the clouds. Signed "Verdier" or (?) to be identified. Beautiful miniature quality. Used condition of the whole, cracks and gaps in the medallion of the box, the latter closes poorly, chip on the protection glass of the miniature and detached frame, portrait with friction, gaps and wetness. 8cm in diameter for the box approximately, 6cm in diameter for the portrait alone approximately.
