" Beautiful Court Character Around 1700, Louis XIV Period."
High quality portrait representing a fine court personage from the time of Louis XIV around 1700; the freshness of the face, the treatment of the hand, the overall execution, everything leads us to appreciate this portrait from the studio of one of the great famous portrait painters of the moment in Paris. Character remarkably dressed according to the style of clothing imposed for example, if present in Court, on the officers of the civil household of the King; his blue jacket that he wears has sculpted silver buttons on which falls an almond-beige colored leotard with the same silver buttons, the outfit he wears is crowned at the handles, (the right in the portrait) and in neck circumference with fine lace lingerie. A large red scarf, forming a veil, enhanced with rich golden braid surrounds the left arm and returns at the back under the right wrist.
Portrait, in its period frame in carved gilded wood, having been previously re-canvased.
Character which can be, depending on the age that we visually establish, one of Aguesseau, Saint-Simon or Gramont…
