Beautiful oil on canvas by Marius Hubert-Robert entitled "Au soleil le mas" representing a Provençal landscape with two characters on a path at the foot of a farmhouse (typical house of Provence), Marius Hubert-Robert (Paris 1885 - Nice 1966) is an orientalist painter and illustrator. He exhibited in particular at the Salon des Indépendants in 1929, at the French Artists, at the Société Nouvelle des Beaux Arts, and at the Salon d'Hiver. Painter of the 10th Army during the 1914-18 war, Marius Hubert Robert offered 2 of his war works to the Luxembourg Museum. He was sponsored for ten years by the Astor family, which allowed him to travel extensively around the world, notably to the United States and Canada, but also to Africa (Morocco and Egypt), Greece and Indochina.
