Transitional Period Furniture, opening on the front with 3 drawers, the upper drawer forming a flap lined with its tan-colored leather, and revealing 4 small drawers at the bottom. The drawers with their original locks close with a key. It is in Satin Wood Marquetry surrounded by Greek Netting, in Rosewood Frames. It is topped with its Royal Red Cavet Marble, formerly restored, but it is original. Our Furniture stands on Small Arched Feet, shod with Gilt Bronze Clogs. The rounded uprights are covered with Simulated Fluted Marquetry. It is stamped G. CORDIE + JME on the Upright. It measures 65 CM in length, 43 CM in depth and 98 CM in height. CORDIÉ Guillaume Guillaume Cordié (1725 - 1785) - cabinetmaker, Master on June 18, 1766. He worked on rue de Charonne until his death. Most of his works are linked to the transitional style Louis XV to Louis XVI. Guillaume Cordié worked as a free craftsman before obtaining his master's degrees in 1766. He settled on rue de Charonne and remained there until his death. His works, of good quality and harmonious proportions, are mostly Transition and Louis -day.
