"Small “transition” Style Fir Fireplace Mantel And Its Faux Marble. Late 19th Century."
Fireplace mantel in fir and painted in faux veined marble in Louis XIV tones. It dates from the end of the 19th century and is transitional in style. The painting is more recent. The wooden frame is in "good condition" but the painting needs to be redone (see photo), particularly on the right jamb. The shapes are elegant, the edges of the top are scrolled as are the upper parts of the jambs. It can elegantly dress a traditional or overly rustic fireplace. Nice size and color. Width of the legs 16 cm Width between the base and the top 11 cm Depth of the top against a wall 26 cm Depth between the top and the legs 15 cm
