Antique Italian painting from the first half of the 19th century. Oil artwork on canvas depicting a neoclassical subject, splendid portrait of a girl in a flower garden. Painting with a good pictorial quality, note the quality of the drapery and the naturalistic elements. Painting representing a girl from behind who is picking roses, with her back slightly exposed. She appears with androgynous features dressed in a tunic reminiscent of Roman antiquity, typical of neoclassical representations. The subject may have been depicted as an incarnation of the Goddess Flora or in any case as an allegory of spring. Oval painting on canvas and rectangular frame, wooden and plaster frame, carved and gilded with beautiful decoration. Beautifully sized painting, ideal for placing in a living room, bedroom or study, for antique dealers and interior designers. Artwork that has undergone conservative restoration, relining and color recovery in some places (see photo). Overall in good condition. Sight size H 109 x W 90 cm.
