Henry D ANTY demonstrates that expressionism can also show itself as a painter attached to work on the motif, following the example of its neo-impressionist colleagues. A pure Parisian, he settled in Montmartre as soon as he matured. In the 1950s, he abandoned black and white and the graphics of his apprenticeship to capture atmospheres, gradually bringing out colors and light. A rough material deposits admirable colors, secret and passionate obstinacy. The figure and reality remain present, but the material and the color predominate, taking the eye which looks towards the universe of lyricism and pure emotion.
