Tibet / Nepal early 19th century or earlierA very detailed and refined cast gilded copper statue of Amitabha Buddha. Sitting on a lotus throne in dhyanasana posture, hands on knees and eyes closed in meditation. Dressed in lots of jewelry, including her elongated earlobes. Two locks of hair fall on her shoulders.
This statue was loved, touched and adored, the wear of the gilding expresses this. It is in good authentic condition, no restoration.
Some jewelry is missing and the vase with Amrita that he holds in his hands is no longer there.
