Details:
Plan
Sinuously wavy briar top with molded edge.
Legs
Supported by four slender supports en cabriole, a movement typical of the Louis XV style.
The front
The front, brightly shaped, is divided into three tiers of drawers, which display a walnut briar mirror with maple thread and walnut border.
The hips
The sides, also strongly shaped, reflect the veneer and briar motif of the front.
Authenticity
The piece of furniture has only been cleaned, each part is intact and contemporary, no replacements and does not require any restoration, ready to be placed on the wall.
To verify its integrity it is necessary to view not only the exterior but also the interior:
Interior, bottom and back in fir wood, a "soft" and not very heavy wood used by Venetian cabinetmakers to be able to transport furniture more easily inside boats.
Looking at the drawers inside it is possible to notice the presence of eighteenth-century nails, not perfectly round, as they were "handmade". An oxide has developed around them given only by the passage of time.
The originality is also evident from the border of the drawers themselves which show the wear caused by their sliding.
Contemporary locks and handles with period mechanism only overhauled.
Furthermore, it has already been exhibited at Modenantiquaria 2020 and subsequently examined by the examining commission.
