Signed on its Base, Hippolyte Moreau (1832-1927). Hippolyte Moreau, born in Dijon in 1832 and died in Neuilly in 1927. He is the second son of the sculptor Jean-Baptiste-Louis-Joseph Moreau. After being trained in his father's workshop, he moved to Paris to follow the teaching of François Jouffroy at the École des Beaux-Arts. Between 1863 and 1914, he exhibited sculptures with mythological and allegorical subjects at the Salon. He won a medal at the Universal Exhibition of 1878 and the Universal Exhibition of 1900.
