VITICULTURE - Extremely rare large circular LEES BASIN in pewter with triangular pouring spout and wing with molded edge, fitted with a swinging brass suspension ring.
Control mark : Crowned C / LYON / 1691
Hallmark of Laurent MORANT received by master around 1664 : Moorish head / LM / 1693.
Diameter 43.5 cm.
LYON, End of the 17th century
This "wine" object is, to my knowledge, unpublished in pewter material and absent from specialized literature.
Very good condition with medium patina showing some areas of smudges.
This master had his mark remade in 1693 and 1700, dates which therefore limit the manufacture of this basin.
