Protected by an original glass plate. The 2 clasps are present to protect the box, the velvet is original and its color is well preserved. Period: second half of the 19th century. Slight rubbing and small cracks in the exterior embossed leather (see detailed photos) The daguerreotype is a photographic process developed in the mid-19th century (by Louis Daguerre and Nicéphore Niépce) producing an image without a negative on a copper plate generally covered with a silver surface, like a mirror, following a long static pause of the photographed subject. Total dimensions of the closed object: 8 x 9 cm
