Terracotta representing a young shepherd seated on a rock, dressed in a single sheepskin, his arm raised in a gesture of amazement.
In a reminiscent of Italian Baroque compositions, the subject is mythological. Is it the young shepherd Acis, Galatea's lover? The hand gesture could make you think so. Is the subject trying to protect himself from the rock thrown by Polyphemus?

Terracotta from the end of the 19th century, probably hand-finished by the sculptor himself.
Signed "V Szczeblewski" on the base.
