Handkerchief Table In Solid Mahogany – 1920

This solid mahogany table, square in shape, has a belt drawer with inlaid fillets and small painted motifs. This drawer is lined with beaded cup buttons with rosettes. The covered feet, decorated with lemon tree nets and small painted flowers, end in brass clogs. The top, surrounded by a composition of ebony and lemon tree, is composed of four triangles, with identical decorations, mounted on brass hinges. By pivoting the tray, a lug located underneath allows one of these triangles to be lifted to facilitate unfolding. The opening reveals a play surface, covered with redone felt, with braid. Each corner includes a small token cavity.
