Small Secretary Called Billet-doux In Solid Mahogany, England – Early 20th Century
This solid mahogany piece of furniture opens with a flap whose front has light wood inlays. This flap, fitted with a functional original lock with its key, reveals, once opened, a work surface, a space with a pen rest cavity and a place to place a small inkwell (not included). This sweet note has a shelf at the bottom, two levels. The sides are sober and slightly cut. The whole is based on two overflowing bases. Formerly used to write small correspondence, the reason why it bears the charming name of Billet-Doux, this little secretary will please for its dimension and its pure lines. ******** Period: Early 20th Century Excellent condition.
