"Buffet In Thuja Burl And Mahogany, Louis XVI Style - 2nd Part 19th"
Elegant Louis XVI style sideboard, topped with a magnificent Bize breccia marble, from the Hautes-Pyrénées, and featuring a groove. Composed of cedar and mahogany burl, enhanced by inlays of rosewood and lemon tree fillet in various places, it opens on the front with a drawer fitted with a chiseled bronze ring handle and beaded macaron. Below, two doors furnished with vertical bronze entrances, one of which has a key operating a brass lock with a so-called "up and down" closure, in working order, reveal a spacious mahogany interior with a shelf on full length. This piece of furniture rests on mahogany uprights embellished in the upper part with bronze scraps, ending in sheathed feet with shoe of the same alloy. The sides, with curved lines, feature the same precious wood inlays on the mahogany and cedar burl. This Buffet will seduce with the refinement of its Louis XVI style, and with the balance of the species that compose it: the light color of the cedar burl gives it a modernist appearance, which will fit perfectly into current decorations. ******** Period: 2nd part 19th Century Excellent condition.
