"Jules-emile Zingg, Harvests In Franche-comté,"
Jules-Emile ZINGG is a French painter and engraver who worked in the workshop of Fernand Cormon at the Beaux-Arts in Paris. He obtained the title of second winner of the Prix de Rome in 1911. He exhibited in Paris with E. Druet, met the painters Nabis Maurice Denis and Paul Sérusier who had a lasting influence on his painting. His numerous landscapes of Brittany, Auvergne, Vexin and Franch-Comté are always solidly constructed, lively and imbued with a poetic note sought after by collectors. The painting that we present to you is a harvest scene near the village of Amondans in Franche-Comté.
