Large 19th century Naturalist ceramic dish in scalloped shape signed in the L. BRARD decor and with a hollow workshop stamp on the back (Léon-Antoine Brard 1830-1902 painter of the Tours school, Prix de Rome in 1854, ceramist and disciple of François Avisseau himself inspired by the style and technique of Bernard Palissy) Important polychrome ceramic structure decorated with seafood in high relief depicting a mackerel and a scorpionfish surrounded by a crab and resting shells on a bed of algae. The border is decorated with a stylized pattern in blue shades. Good general and original condition, dimensions: 34 cm long x 6 cm thick.
