Important 20th century oil painting on canvas signed C.VEVERS (Christof Vevers born 1962) French school of Art Deco style, follower of Galien-Laloue and Edouard Cortès depicting a lively boulevard in Paris towards Place de la République and Rue du Temple. Large Post-Impressionist composition deploying a beautiful thick material punctuated by shimmering colors. Painting with large and aesthetic dimensions presented in a carved 1900 gilded wooden frame, dimensions: 1 m 45 x 1 m 15 / at sight 1 m 20 x 90 cm. Note two similar paintings by this artist estimated in 2024 in the Gazette de Drouot (see photo reference). Christof Vevers, painter born in 1962 into a musical family, he graduated from a plastic arts school in Hamburg. The majority of his works are devoted to views of Paris through the prism of daily life, changes of seasons and atmospheres. Whatever place the painter brings us, whether it is the Arc de Triomphe, the Place de la Madeleine, the Café de la Paix, Notre Dame or other historical monuments, daily life of the city always remains in the foreground.
